We only ask for what we need — to keep you safe on the mats, to administer your membership, and to reach someone in an emergency. Lawful basis: contract performance (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)); emergency contact under legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).

The four agreements below are the legal terms of your membership. Please read each one before ticking. The full text is included verbatim in the signed PDF you'll receive at the end. Document version 1.0 — February 2026.
1 · Membership Agreement
The Club: Crouch End Kickboxing, operating kickboxing fitness classes at Park Road Leisure Centre, Park Rd, London N8 8JN (London Borough of Haringey).
Key Terms
Rolling monthly membership · No minimum term · £81.75 per month · One class per week (52/year) · One free trial class before signing up · Paid via Stripe (card or direct debit) on the 1st of each calendar month (or next working day) · Cancellation: 30 days' written notice · 14-day cooling-off for distance contracts (CCR 2013) · Freezing not available.
3. Membership
3.1 Rolling monthly with no minimum term, continuing month-to-month until cancelled under clause 7. 3.2 You're entitled to attend one scheduled class per week, subject to availability. 3.3 If we cancel a class (instructor illness, bank holiday, etc.), we'll offer a replacement that week or a credit next month. 3.4 Missed classes are not carried over or refunded. 3.5 Membership is personal and non-transferable.
5. Fees and Payment
5.1 £81.75 per month, in advance, on the 1st. 5.2 First payment pro-rated if you join mid-month. 5.3 No joining or admin fees. 5.4 If a payment fails, we'll notify you and re-collect within 7 days. 5.5 We can increase the fee with 30 days' written notice (not within the first 3 months). 5.6 Inclusive of any applicable VAT; the club is not currently VAT-registered.
6. Cooling-Off Period (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)
6.1 If you sign up online, you have 14 days from the date of this agreement to cancel without giving any reason (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, Reg 29). 6.2 If you have not attended any class during this 14-day period, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid within 14 days of receipt of your cancellation notice. 6.3 If you attend any class during the cooling-off period, you confirm by attending that you have expressly requested the membership service to begin before the end of the cancellation period (CCR 2013 Reg 36(1)). In that case, the first month's membership fee (£81.75) is treated as the proportionate amount under Reg 36(4) and is non-refundable; no subsequent months will be charged if you cancel within the 14-day window. 6.4 This 14-day right does not apply if you signed in person at the premises (Reg 27). Membership and the drop-in class are separate products at their stated prices — the drop-in rate does not form a per-class deduction from the membership fee.
7. Cancellation
7.1 You can cancel anytime with 30 days' written notice (email is fine) — no cancellation fees. 7.2 Membership ends on the last day of the notice period. 7.3 If notice spans two billing months, only one further payment is collected. 7.4 In line with CMA guidance, immediate cancellation without penalty is available for: serious illness/injury (with GP letter), relocation more than 15 miles, or bereavement of an immediate family member. 7.6 We may cancel immediately for serious misconduct, safety risk, false health declaration, or 2 months' unpaid arrears.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Nothing in this agreement excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (UCTA 1977 s.2(1); CRA 2015 s.65(1)), or for fraud. 10.2 Subject to 10.1, total aggregate liability is capped at fees paid in the preceding 12 months.
11. Data Protection
11.1 Lawful basis: contract performance (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). 11.2 Bank details handled under the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme. 11.3 Health data: explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)). 11.4 Retained for membership + 3 years (Limitation Act 1980); financial records 6 years (HMRC). 11.5 Right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, portability — email the club. Complaint to ICO at ico.org.uk.
13. General
Governed by the laws of England and Wales. Exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or CCR 2013.
2 · Participant Agreement & Liability Waiver
IMPORTANT — Please read carefully
Nothing in this agreement excludes the club's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence (Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 s.2(1); Consumer Rights Act 2015 s.65(1)).
1. Nature of the activity
Kickboxing fitness classes may include cardiovascular warm-up, conditioning, technique instruction, pad work, bag work, partner drills, controlled contact sparring (intermediate/advanced only), and cool-down stretching.
2. Voluntary assumption of inherent risk
I acknowledge that kickboxing carries inherent risks that cannot be entirely eliminated, including: bruising, abrasions and soft tissue injuries; muscle strains, sprains and tears; fractures and dislocations; concussion and other head injuries; dental injuries; eye injuries; joint injuries; cardiovascular events (especially with undisclosed conditions); skin infections; and, rarely, serious or permanent injury.
2.2 I have read and understood the list of inherent risks above and voluntarily choose to participate. 2.3 This does not affect the club's duty of care or liability for negligence. 2.4 I understand the principle of volenti non fit injuria: injury arising from inherent risk (not negligence) is a consequence of my own decision to take part.
3. Health declaration
3.1 I've completed a PAR-Q honestly and completely. 3.2 If GP clearance was required, I've obtained and provided it before participating. 3.3 I'll inform an instructor immediately if my health changes (new diagnosis, medication change, pregnancy, injury). 3.4 Providing false health information may increase my risk; the club is not responsible for injuries resulting from undisclosed conditions.
4. Participant obligations and club rules
4.1 Follow all instructor instructions including stop/modify/withdraw. 4.2 Wear required protective equipment: hand wraps/gloves for striking; for sparring: headguard, mouthguard, groin guard, shin guards, 14oz+ gloves. 4.3 No sparring unless graded. 4.4 No alcohol, recreational drugs, or impairing substances. 4.5 Stop and inform the instructor if you feel unwell. 4.6 Treat all participants with respect — aggressive or harmful behaviour will result in removal. 4.7 No attending with contagious skin conditions; cover open wounds. 4.8 Remove jewellery before training.
5. Limitation of liability
5.1 Nothing excludes negligence liability. 5.2 The club isn't liable for loss of personal property unless caused by negligence; we don't provide secure storage. 5.3 We aren't liable for injuries caused by your failure to follow rules, disclose health conditions, or safety instructions. 5.4 No exclusion of liability under the Occupiers' Liability Acts 1957/1984.
6. Club's responsibilities
6.1 Public liability insurance £5,000,000 minimum. 6.2 Instructors hold Level 2+ qualifications, current first-aid certificate, Enhanced DBS check. 6.3 Risk assessment completed under MHSWR 1999 reg. 3. 6.4 First-aid trained person + stocked first-aid kit at every session. 6.5 Equipment inspected before use.
3 · Code of Conduct
Club values
Respect · Safety · Integrity · Inclusion · Discipline. The club is committed to the Equality Act 2010 — no person will be treated less favourably or harassed on any protected characteristic. Discriminatory language, gestures or "banter" is a serious breach.
5. Code of Conduct for Participants
Safety: Complete PAR-Q and Participant Agreement before your first session · Disclose any condition or change in health · Follow all safety instructions · Wear appropriate kit and required protective equipment · No jewellery · No training under the influence · No attending with contagious skin conditions · Stop and inform the instructor if unwell · No sparring unless graded.
Respect & fair play: Treat instructors and training partners with respect at all times · Control the force and intensity of your strikes · Accept the instructor's decisions (raise concerns calmly after the session) · No abusive, threatening, or discriminatory language · No bullying or deliberate targeting of less experienced partners · Respect the skill and experience of your partners · Acknowledge and respect tap-out/verbal stop signals immediately.
General conduct: Arrive on time · Keep the training area clean · Wipe down shared equipment after use · Don't bring valuables (no secure storage) · No mobile phones during training except in emergency · Photography/filming must comply with the Photography Policy · Don't use the club's name or social media accounts without authorisation.
Outside the club: Don't use kickboxing techniques outside the training environment except in genuine self-defence as a last resort · Don't represent yourself as an instructor or authority unless qualified.
Breaches
Minor breaches (lateness, mobile use) → verbal reminder. Serious breaches (aggression, discriminatory language, breach of photography policy, attending under influence) → formal written warning, suspension, additional training. Gross misconduct (assault, sexual harassment, safeguarding breach, deliberate intent to injure, illegal drugs) → immediate suspension pending investigation, permanent exclusion, report to police where appropriate.
Safeguarding
A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is in place. Report concerns to the DSL by emailing crouchendkickboxing@protonmail.com, or — if the concern involves the DSL — to Haringey Children's Services (020 8489 4470) or the police. The club has a zero-tolerance approach to abuse of any kind. Whistleblowers protected under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998.
4 · Photography & Video Consent
Photographs and video in which you are identifiable are personal data under UK GDPR. Lawful basis for processing your image is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — given per use below.
How the club uses photographs and video
Promotion on social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X) · Club website and online advertising · Printed promotional materials · Internal coaching/technique review (shared only with you and your instructor) · Press and media coverage.
Images focus on activity, not the individual. Promotional images retained max 3 years; coaching images deleted within 30 days.
Withdrawal of consent
You can withdraw consent for any/all uses at any time by emailing the club — your image will be removed from digital platforms within 14 days. Withdrawal won't affect your membership.
Photography Policy (applies to everyone on the premises)
You can take photographs/video of your own training, but not of other participants without their express consent. Strictly prohibited in changing areas, toilets, or anywhere with reasonable expectation of privacy. Sharing images of other participants on social media without their consent is a breach of this policy and the UK GDPR. The club isn't the data controller for images taken by participants/spectators on their own devices.
Your consent — per use
5 · Cooling-off & Cancellation
This sign-up is being made online — it's a distance contract, so you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from today during which you can cancel for any reason by emailing crouchendkickboxing@protonmail.com.
If you attend a class during the cooling-off period, you accept that the service has begun before the end of the cancellation period. In that case, if you cancel within the 14-day window, your first month's membership fee (£81.75) is non-refundable as the proportionate amount under CCR 2013 Reg 36 — no subsequent months will be charged (Membership Agreement clause 6.3). If you do not attend any class during the cooling-off period and cancel within 14 days, you will receive a full refund within 14 days of your cancellation notice.
After the cooling-off period: 30 days' written notice to cancel — no fees.
